The Best Essential Oils for Face Steaming

There are many essential oils suitable for face steaming for a number of different reasons. I find that each essential oil has its own use and benefit for my skin. Here are a few essential oils I would recommend for face steaming and how they help to nourish and hydrate my skin all year round.

Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil is high in antioxidants helping to prevent a build-up of dirt and debris by increasing ceramide synthesis and hydrating your skin. Eucalyptus is the perfect essential oil to use when steaming your face if you are looking to protect your skin from stress and treat acne or dermatitis.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is a natural essential oil for cleansing the skin and clearing blocked pores that can lead to facial acne. Peppermint oil helps to relieve skin irritation by providing antiseptic and anti-inflammation benefits.

Oregano Oil

If you are looking for a natural alternative to help combat age appearance then try steaming your face with oregano oil! Oregano oil helps to achieve smooth and seamless-looking skin by healing skin acne and reducing irritation and readiness.

Lavender Oil

I recommended using lavender oil before you go to bed to help relax and soothe your mind and body for a fantastic night’s sleep! This essential oil works for all skin types and contains antibacterial properties to soothe and protect the skin.

How to Steam your Face with Essential Oils

Essential oils are a fantastic way of helping you to achieve the most out of your daily skin routine. They not only help to achieve seamless-looking skin but do come with many health benefits. Discover how to steam your face with essential oils to reap the benefits.

  1. First, you will want to have a bowl of boiled water ready to add your essential oils. The warmer the better, this way you can really unclog and clean out your pores.
  2. Add a drop of each essential oil to your bowl of hot water.
  3. Place your head over the bowl with a towel covering your head and the bowl making sure to keep your eyes closed, this will keep the steam in place.
