Athletics, Essential Oils, and the Olympics…
“As an athlete,” says Victoria Stambaugh, “it is very important to first believe in ourselves. If we cannot believe in ourselves and be confident in our training and abilities, we have already lost the battle we set out to accomplish.” Born and currently residing in Texas (U.S), 28-year-old Victoria Stambaugh is eligible to represent Puerto Rico in Taekwondo Championships at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and is a fantastic advocate for our doTerra products.
Coming from quite an intense sporting background, with her father Frank being a professional boxer in the 1980s, being an athlete and the importance of staying as fit as possible has always been a part of her. However, for Victoria, her focus has always been on taekwondo and being the very best she can be in her field.
Last year, she was awarded silver at the 2020 Mexico Open, and in 2017, she was named “Best Puerto Rican Female Taekwondo Athlete of the Year”. She also won the 2017 Moldovan Open.
“Taekwondo for me is a way of life. It’s taught me so much in life, made me the person I am today”. Victoria, however, hasn’t been a stranger to hardships over the years.
After having six knee surgeries, plenty of reconstruction surgery and a long and difficult rehabilitation process, Victoria has persevered through it all to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Her determination and drive to succeed is utterly admirable, and after just missing the opportunity to perform at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016, the steps she’s taken to ensure another moment doesn’t pass her by are truly a feat to behold.
Since 2016, she’s achieved multiple awards, achievements and accolades in her field, across various states and in multiple countries such as Cyprus, New Zealand, and Costa Rica.
Victoria has been a proud doTerra advocate for years and uses our doTerra essential oils to ensure she always looks and feels her very best. She says that one of her “favourite ways to use copaiba is to apply the essential oil on [her] face after a shower paired with Frankincense essential oil and [her] doTerra HD Clear Facial Lotion.”
This is a fantastic routine from Victoria, and if it’s good enough for an Olympian, it’s certainly good enough for everyone to try for themselves. We love to see how all of our advocates and wholesale customers use our doTerra products, and how they make their doTerra purchases.
“I love all my doTerra essential oils,” Victoria says, “but the ones I used on a daily basis are Deep Blue and InTune (learn more below!). Being an athlete preparing for the Olympics required focus and recovery.
These two products aid me in both”. Our Deep Blue range aims to provide both a warming and cooling effect when massaged and applied directly to the skin. With essential oils such as Ylang Ylang and Peppermint oil infused into every individual product, using any item from our Deep Blue range is bound to leave you both relaxed and energised at the end of a long day, and is known to leave you with some of the most relaxing side effects. This product is especially good for pregnant women, also.
Ever since she joined the doTerra family, Victoria often shares exactly what doTerra products she’s using with her large following on Instagram, from essential oils to tea tree oils. She particularly seems to love our Slim & Sassy range.
She posted an absolutely gorgeous photo of her with our doTerra products, with the caption “Love feeling slim and sassy with my Slim & Sassy Metabolic Oil Blend from @doTerra! Benefits of the Slim&Sassy Blend are to manage hunger cravings, calm the stomach, and uplift mood”.
We love how much our advocates and customers love our products and pure essential oils, and we always love seeing how they choose to use them! Whether you use our oils to help with health care, to minimise allergic reactions or simply to aid a health condition, doTerra is there to support you along the way.
The motto “Believe. Commit. Achieve.” means an awful lot to Victoria Stambaugh. In fact, it’s her very own personal motto.
It was inspired by her favourite bible verse, Proverbs 16:3, which reads “commit to the Lord at whatever you do, and your plans shall succeed”.
She says that this is the motto that got her through all of her difficult moments, both personally and professionally. Her religion and belief have been a key part of what keeps Victoria so strong and keeps her doing what she loves.
Here at the The Botanist’s Kitchen, we are so proud of everything our doTerra advocate Victoria Stambaugh has achieved, and everything she’s going to go on and do in the future!
To sum up her determination and courage, we’ll leave you with this snippet once said by our advocate; “After we learn to believe we are able, we must commit ourselves 100% to achieving that goal in mind.” Make sure to keep an eye out for her at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, competing in the Taekwondo Championships for her grandmother’s home country of Puerto Rico.
