Method
Making your own pizza dough is easy, and it’s a great way to impress your friends and family. The key to making good pizza dough is to use the right ingredients and to knead it until it’s smooth and elastic. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can experiment with different flours and toppings to create your own unique pizzas.
To make pizza dough, you’ll need flour, water, yeast, salt, and olive oil. Start by mixing the flour, water, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Then, add the olive oil and continue mixing until the dough is sticky but not too wet. Once the dough is mixed, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour; if it’s too dry, add more water.
Once the dough is smooth and elastic, shape it into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour. Once it has doubled in size, punch it down and shape it into a disc. Then, use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
Next, simply spread a layer of passata onto the base (a tablespoon works best) and then sprinkle your chosen toppings on before adding to the oven. It won’t take long to cook, so keep a close eye on it. If you have a pizza oven you will get even better results, but it’s not completely necessary.
The final step, once its out of the oven is to drizzle 2-3 drops of doTERRA Oregano Oil onto your cooked pizza. The first thing you will notice is the WONDERFUL aroma the warm oil gives off. It’s truly authentic and so appealing. Oregano essential oil supports a healthy immune system which means this homemade pizza recipe is great for your body as well as your tastebuds!
